A Bourbon Expert's Honest Opinion On Costco's Kirkland Signature Selection
BY CLAIRE REDDEN
From $40k wine to rare whiskeys, Costco's alcohol aisle is high-quality, and according to expert Christ Blatner, Kirkland Signature bourbon lives up to this standard.
Blatner, an executive bourbon steward and the creator of @urbanbourbonist, says, "Costco seems to be sourcing some really good bourbon from some well-known larger distilleries."
Indeed, Kirkland brand bourbon is produced by Barton 1792, a division of Sazerac Company along with Buffalo Trace, so it's no surprise Kirkland bourbon is good stuff.
Blatner continues, "The selections I've had have all been quite good. They offer great value for what is in the bottle." A bottle of Kirkland Single Barrel is around $33.
Even when sharing shelf space with powerhouses like Stagg or Van Winkle, Kirkland bourbon can hold its own, making it well worth buying a bottle or even a case.
