A $6,000 Weller Bourbon Was Spotted At Costco. But Why Is It Special?

Recently, Costco shoppers spotted one of the newest products from the legendary distillery Buffalo Trace — the Weller Millennium — available at a discounted price of $6000.
It is a blend of bourbons and wheat whiskeys that Buffalo Trace has stored for years. The oldest one is from 2000 while the youngest is from 2006, making it an 18-year-old whiskey.
The bottle is a handmade crystal decanter with a hand-etched crystal topper emblazoned with the Weller logo. It also comes with an illuminated display case.
The case has the years of each whiskey barrel listed alongside their percentage. In addition to all this, the bottle's gimmicky proof point of 99 gives it an expensive aura.
