If food is a universal language, Kerala-born chef Asha Gomez is one of the profession's most gifted translators. Seats at Gomez's Spice Route Supper Club were, for a time, the hottest ticket in the South, and her former Cardamom Hill won immediate accolades for her marriage of Southern and Southern Indian cuisines. Gomez's devotees now journey to her newest, more casual venture, Spice to Table, an "Indian patisserie" with a constantly rotating menu of dishes like curried chickpeas with baked potato cake kathi roll, roasted eggplant with buttermilk dressing and chocolate chile cake.
