Jordan Salcito has a thing for quality Champagne, antique barware and alternative '90s hip hop. Her favorite wine books are from a Japanese manga series–and they're brimming with hot pink post-it notes.

In other words she's something of a contradiction and that's what we like about the Denver-native, Bellus Wines founder and Momofuku beverage director. And it's why we tapped her for some eclectic tips on what we should be reading, drinking and putting on our table this spring.

"Joanne Chang's Flour Bakery cookbook is one of my favorites. I have a bit of a sweet tooth. Her recipe for ginger molasses cookies puts all others to shame."

"I love the West Village flea market on weekends. I've picked up antique cork trays, wine cradles (important for decanting) and barware here, for a song."

"When it comes to wine keys, I've tried them all, and the Aldo Sohm Laguiole wine key is my favorite! It's reliable, the knife is excellent and it happens to be quite beautiful, to boot."

"These specialty salts are from The Meadow on Hudson Street. They specialize in flowers, salts and dark chocolates. Basically, it's one-stop shopping for dinner party essentials."

"It's useful to have a few different decanters in different shapes. Taller, narrow decanters leave a smaller footprint on the table, but I also like ones with a wider base."

"Husband and wife team Scott and Dana Frank are making stunning wines from Loire Valley varietals out of fruit grown in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The Gamay Noir is a juicy, bright, mineral-driven gamay that is as elegant and filigreed as it is quaffable."

"The Drops of God, a Japanese manga series, are some of my favorite wine books. They appeal to the fact that we're all visual learners and it's so interesting to get a snapshot into what bottles are making waves in other countries."
