Wine Country & Workout Getaways

Work more than your taste buds on two wine-country getaways

Curling a glass up to your mouth does not a workout make. When planning your next Napa getaway, keep these two innovative, active options in mind for a vacation that's as healthful as it is flavorful:

Vineyard 29: The St. Helena, California, winery has partnered with Pilates ProWorks to launch a ProWorks29, Pilates, TRX and barre program, beginning this spring. The daylong classes will be held on a veranda overlooking the vineyards; each session includes tastings and meals prepared by chef Austin Gallion. $150 per person for groups of 6 to 12; call 707-963-9292 for details and reservations

Stony Hill: In lieu of the typical winery tour, Stony Hill has started a "Hike Through the Vines" option, a tour of the Napa winery's 160-acre property led by proprietor Sarah McCrea and her dog Milo. The stroll caps off with a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon barrel tasting, a picnic and a glass of wine next to the pool. $100 per person for groups of 4 to 12; call 707-963-2636 for details and reservations
