'Top Chef' Alums Will Battle Newcomers

Pack your knives and get ready to head to Charleston

Chefs, please pack your knives and head to Charleston. This season of Top Chef will pit eight new chefs, who have probably never had to live through the pain of a Quickfire, against eight past contestants, Eater reports.

There's no word yet on who from past seasons will be brave enough to return to the show in the name of cash and prizes, but Bravo released the names of the new chefs: Silvia Barban from Brooklyn, Emily Hahn from Charleston, Jamie Lynch of Charlotte, Annie Pettry of Louisville, Sylva Senat from Philly, BJ Smith from Portland, Jim Smith of Montgomery (Alabama) and Gerald Sombright from Marco Island (Florida).

The season will also see guest appearances from Daniel Humm and Will Guidara of Eleven Madison Park, Michael Solomonov of Zahav in Philly, Jeremiah Tower, local hero Sean Brock and others.

Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons will also get a new colleague this season, as Graham Elliot, who is a judge on MasterChef, joins the show.

Let the gravy wars start.
