Saturday, 4/10 Noon to 5 p.m.
To Market
The Greenpoint Food Market will come out of hibernation this weekend with
its Spring Awakening event. Expect a laundry list of artisanal,
Brooklyn-made provisions--including jams from Anarchy in a Jar

and Bacon Marmalade

Sunday, 4/11 4 to 7 p.m.
Breadwinner
Chefs from Blue Hill and other food enthusiasts get creative with Hot Bread
Kitchen's line of products in a fundraising cook-off ($20; e-mail
heidi@tastebudsnyc.com for reservations) for the nonprofit bakery. Head to
Jimmy's No. 43 to see (and taste) how the contestants use HBK's granola and
organic corn tortillas to impress the judges. Jimmy's No. 43, 43 E. Seventh

Wednesday, 4/14 6:30 p.m.
Heads Up!
The city is full of springtime signposts, from ramps at the Greenmarket to
the return of outdoor seating. But one of our favorite celebrations is the
annual shad dinner at Savoy. Chef Peter Hoffman will serve a four-course
meal ($95; call for reservations) dedicated to this local fish, which makes
its annual migration to East Coast estuaries this time of year. Savoy, 70
Prince St. (at Crosby St.); 212-219-8570 or savoyc.com

TURNED TABLES:

OPENED: Tamarind Tribeca
The popular upscale Indian spot in the Flatiron neighborhood opened a
second location in Tribeca this week.

OPENED: Taureau
Bring your own libations to sip on while you dip and dunk various offerings
at this fondue-centric newcomer in the East Village (at 127 E. Seventh
St.).

OPENED: The Parlour
While Midtown has no shortage of Irish bars, this one, which opens today,
promises to elevate the experience with offerings like shepherd's pie and
colcannon croquettes to enjoy alongside your Guinness.
