5 Rosés That Go Beyond the Basic Bottle
Rosé: the pink drink we all love to make fun of, but not-so-secretly enjoy all the same. But despite all the memes and embarrassing labels, not all bottles of blush wine have to be something to be ashamed of—or something from Provence, the top-producing region of rosé in the world. It's why we're asking Robin Pohlman of Convive Wine & Spirits in NYC to give us her top five picks that are anything but ordinary, her selections from Greece, Hungary and more.

Made using Xarello grapes grown on a biodynamic farm in Catalonia, Spain, Pohlman notes this is the same type of sparkling wine you'd see in Spanish wine bars—perfect for pairing with tangy, hard cheeses and cured hams.
This Austrian wine blend has what Pohlman calls "a nice curvy roundness in the mouth," thanks to the spicy boldness of Blaufränkisch grapes contrasting with the silky, cherry flavors of St. Laurent
"This one is from old vines, giving it a sexy concentration of flavor while maintaining that crisp freshness we love so much," she says of the Hungarian varietal.
Made from grapes found only Corsica, France, what comes out of this bottle is an "earthy and herbaceous" rosé.
To Pohlman, breaking into this bottle tastes "just like biting into a perfectly ripe blueberry." Need she say more?
