With our kitchen in the capable hands of this Top Chef season 9 winner, the James Beard Best Chef Southwest 2012 and the chef behind the much-buzzed about Qui, the evening is sure to have delicious results.
On Monday, December 9 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tasting Table readers are invited to join chef Qui for cocktails, canapés and a five-course dinner (see the full menu here) with paired wines at the Test Kitchen & Dining Room in Soho ($200 plus tax; purchase tickets here).
The dinner will be full of the flavors of Qui's native Philippines, his adopted home of Austin and the punch of one of his favorite ingredients--Red Boat Fish Sauce.
One example: Qui uses this must-have pantry staple in a coconut milk-, Thai chile- and cilantro-spiked amberjack Filipino ceviche called kinilaw.
