Survive Dry January With These Snacks

Sober satisfaction

Like purchasing a gym membership or taking up meditation (aka downloading that app for the 14th time), Dry January is an annual ritual among the #NewYearNewMe set. But just because you've pledged to give up alcohol for 31 days doesn't mean you have to deprive yourself of your favorite flavors. We've scoured the infinitesimal corners of the Internet to find the perfect snacks to substitute for any cocktail you're craving. Chips or candy might not quite align with your healthy-diet resolution, but, hey, they sure beat a hangover.

① Champagne-Flavored Jelly Beans

You know the saying, "Champagne for my real friends; real pain for my sham friends; Champagne-flavored Jelly Bellys for my sober friends." Or, um, something like that.

② Gin & Tonic Ice Cream

Cold, sweet and a tad sour, juniper berry and lime ice cream hits the same flavor spot as a G&T and works way better in a waffle cone than an actual cocktail.

③ Piña Colada Starbursts®

Prepare to be transported from your cubicle to the Caribbean with a package of piña colada-flavored Starbursts, available in the standard Tropical pack or—thanks to the Internet—in bulk. (Cabana boy not included.)

④ Cuba Libre Gummies

These Havana gummies have the same delicious rum-lime-cola flavor combo you'd find in a Cuba libre, and they'll never put you over the legal limit.

⑤ Mint Julep Candy Chews

Find a porch and summon Southern Derby days via classic Necco Mint Julep Candy Chews. I do declare, they're almost as good as the real thing.

⑥ Whiskey Coffee

Enjoy a pick-me-up of a different sort with Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey Coffee, which is probably the only Jack Daniel's product you won't get in trouble for consuming at work.

⑦ Peach Bellini Gummies

Bellinis are a classic brunch cocktail, so no one can judge you for cracking open a package of these sugar-dusted candies at 10 a.m.

⑧ Margarita Key Lime Pie

Abstaining is easy as pie—literally—with this tangy Key lime concoction, which mimics the refreshing flavors of a classic margarita. (Sprinkle of salt optional but encouraged.)

⑨ Bloody Mary Kettle Chips

You don't need to be on the hunt for a hair-of-the-dog remedy to enjoy these Bloody Mary kettle chips, which are likely to continue their run on your personal snack circuit long after Dryuary's done.

⑩ Negroni Pâte de Fruit

Blood orange and Campari flavors find a sweet home in Negroni pâte de fruit. Given the whole vegan/gluten-free thing, we're pretty sure these candies even qualify as health food.

⑪ Beer-Flavored Gum

Beer-flavored gum: for the person who wants to feel just as sick as they did post-keg stand in college!

On second thought, maybe just forgo beer entirely until February.
