We're pretty obsessed with This Thing Now. Here's how to get it into your life.

When newly minted James Beard Best Chef Northwest winner and The Willows Inn on Lummi Island chef Blaine Wetzel throws out a crazy idea, you go for it.

At least that's what Andrea Petrini and Alexandra Swenden are doing.

They would be the masterminds behind last year's caviar- and cold fried chicken-filled surprise party for Wylie Dufresne and the always evolving, never repeating collective of chefs and artists known as Gelinaz! So after Wetzel suggested doing a worldwide chef swap and restaurant takeover, the wheels started turning.

Now that day has come.

Tickets go on sale today, May 13, at noon, for The Grand Gelinaz! Shuffle, a simultaneous dinner happening around the world on Thursday, July 9, when 37 renowned chefs, such as Wetzel, Massimo Bottura, Sean Brock, René Redzepi and Dominique Crenn, will leave their own restaurants to command another's. They'll each be using local ingredients to create their own eight-course tasting menus for the night.

The chefs have no idea where they'll be stationed and neither will you. The ticket guarantees you dinner at the restaurant of your choice, but you won't find out who's back in the kitchen until the end of the meal. Plus, not only will the chefs cook in their selected restaurants, but they will inhabit the life of the chef they're replacing: staying at their home, walking their dog and working with their kitchen gear and ingredients.
