Chef Alfred Portale's Favorite Drunk Food

What one chef cooks when he's drunk

Chef Alfred Portale is best known for the elegant New American cuisine he crafts at Gotham Bar and Grill. But after he's thrown back a few, he looks to Italy.

"I make a mash-up of cacio e pepe and carbonara: I cook up some onion and bacon, add lots of pepper and toss into al dente spaghetti with some butter. A fried egg on top completes the dish," Portale says.

Sounds a little bit like a dish we made not too long ago. Breakfast pasta for dinner, anyone?
