Beyonce's Red Lobster Name Drop Sent Droves To The Chain

Beyonce's Red Lobster name drop in "Formation" sent droves to the seafood chain

Over the weekend, when Queen Bey dropped her newest and most political music video—and slayed the Super Bowl halftime show—she launched a fierce debate about the her song "Formation," proving she's just as much a social commentator as performer.

While pundits around the interwebs debated the song, other people decided to hone in on one lyric: "When he f*ck me good I take his ass to Red Lobster, 'cause I slay."

The quick mention apparently sent loads of seafood-starved Beyonce fans to locations of the national chain on Sunday. Execs said they saw a 33 percent bump in sales, which they're dubbing the "Beyonce Bounce," according to CNBC.

In her honor, some Red Lobster employees have started renaming menu items: Cheddar bay biscuits are now cheddar "Bey" biscuits.

"We are absolutely delighted with what we saw over the weekend, particularly the consumer sentiment that we saw expressed . . . . It's clear that Beyonce has helped create some Red Lobster fans, and we are very grateful to her for that," Red Lobster CEO Kim Lopdrup told CNBC.

With the power of Queen Bey, is it only a matter of time before we see random people pulling hot sauce out of their bags? Because, you know: "I got hot sauce in my bag, swag."
