Vodka At New Heights

Mix up fly cocktails with Hangar 1 Vodka

There's only one thing cooler than a California vodka distillery housed inside a giant hangar: a cocktail made with its sleek, refreshing vodka.

Hangar 1 has been tinkering with old-world vodka traditions since 2001, distilling a top-quality spirit, one batch at a time, and it deserves a coveted spot in your home bar.

On June 16, Hangar 1 and head distiller Caley Shoemaker hosted a boozy bash at the Tasting Table Test Kitchen in New York City. The California-cool, all-American vodka was mixed into bottled cocktails, infused with bright strawberries and used as an ingredient to spike cookies. Now you can bring the party home with these spirited recipes:

Monterey Drifter (see the recipe): Give your martini a makeover with dill-infused vodka, aquavit and dry vermouth.

Golden State Soda (see the recipe): This naturally vibrant spritzer is made with peak-season blueberries muddled with vodka, St-Germain and lime, and topped with soda.

Valley View (see the recipe): Drizzle cucumber simple syrup into vodka, Aperol and Lillet Blanc for an herbaceous take on a Negroni.

Your summer cocktails are approaching takeoff, thanks to Hangar 1.

If you have a soft spot for Jolly Ranchers, then you'll love this slightly sweet cocktail. It's boozy and refreshing all at once.

This cocktail can easily be batched for large parties. Just remember to add the soda water right before serving.
