Tasting Table Open Market In Chicago December 2014

Tasting Table's Open Market returns to Chicago this December

What do you call more than 40 of Chicago's best chefs, pastry chefs and artisan producers under one roof, selling small-batch food, gifts and delicious bites side by side?

We call it awesome.

But seriously, we also call it Tasting Table's Open Market, which returns to Chicago for its second year on Saturday, December 6, at the sweeping Redmoon Event Venue in Pilsen. Get your tickets now to experience this one-day-only retail experience and celebration of Chicago food culture.

Entry is only $5, which includes a complimentary drink from Tasting Table's Holiday Beers and Cheers area; toast the day with Goose Island Beer, Alamos wine, cocktails made with Angostura bitters and free samples of Coca-Cola Life.

Ready to map out your day (the event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; see the entire list of hand-picked vendors here) of eating and shopping?

Fuel up with a coffee and fresh-baked pastries. Then hit the vendors selling gifts edible (Champagne truffles, artisan popcorns) and beautiful (cookbooks, vintage housewares). Pick up a frozen pastry crust to make sure your holiday baking is error-proof.

After checking off your shopping list, treat yourself to savory snacks (steak-and-ale hand pies, wild boar cavatelli, tacos, ceviche) and sweet bites (tarts, cookies, pies) from the local restaurants on hand. And that's just a smattering of the deliciousness going down.

But don't just take it from us: Listen to what Mary Aregoni of Saigon Sisters, who will be back at Open Market for a second year serving favorites like kimchi tater tots, has to say: "It's a great way for the restaurant community to come together—and it will be holiday time, so for customers, it's a celebration."

See you in Chicago.
