Flame Broiled Brilliance

Our favorite burgers in Miami

Did you know it's National Burger Month? (Your Instagram feed may have clued you in).

It's not like we need a made-up holiday to enjoy some of Miami's best patties; there are plenty of great ones in town.

In no particular order, here's where to find our favorites.

? db Bistro Moderne in Downtown
The db Burger ($32) is world-renowned for a reason. We think it has something to do with the braised sirloin patty stuffed with short rib and foie gras. The Parmesan bun doesn't hurt, either

? Michael Mina 74 in Miami Beach
You know about the Burger Bar at Bourbon Steak, but our fave Mina burger is the dry-aged steak burger ($26) with smoked bacon at 74. There's something addicting in that creamy secret sauce.

A & G Burger Joint in Sweetwater
With such a varied selection, we recommend keeping it "simple" by going for the 50/50 BBQ burger ($12). The patty is mixed with ground applewood bacon, basted with BBQ sauce and topped with smoked Gouda.

Blue Collar in Upper Eastside
The Real Juicy Cheeseburger ($16) is a toothsome prime NY strip patty served on a perfectly toasted Portuguese muffin. This month's specials include burgers inspired by local bloggers.

LoKal and Kush in Coconut Grove and Wynwood
The LoKal burger ($13) gets our seal of approval for its Florida grass-fed beef with house-made honey mustard sauce, melted jack cheese, tomatoes and avocado. So kush.

? Umami in South Beach
The city exclusive Miami Heat burger ($15) is mixed with smoky pork chorizo and draped in mojo mustard sauce. It's totally playoffs worthy.

? Pincho Factory in Westchester and Coral Gables
Move over doughnut burger; no matter what insane items sandwich the chuck, brisket and short rib patties (tostones, pastelitos, quesadillas, etc.), the best way to have it is in the fairly straight forward Pincho burger ($5.99 single, $7.49 double) with potato sticks and house pink sauce.

? Latin House Burger and Taco Bar in Kendall
We've got intense feelings for the Mad Love burger ($7.99 ¼ lb., $12.99 ½ lb.). Blanketed with mozzarella, provolone, Swiss, maple-glazed bacon, caramelized onions and mushrooms, slices of Hass avocados and a creamy avocado-lime sauce, it makes you want to fall in love over and over again.

Sakaya Kitchen in Downtown and Midtown
Why wouldn't you turn one of the world's most delicius dishes into a burger? The Bulgogi ($9) is topped with goat cheese, kimchi tator-tots, house pickles and a slab of pork. It's an explosion of sweet and spicy flavors with a crunch.

Swine Southern in Coral Gables
Pig out with the Swine burger ($16). What makes this multilayered creation irresistible is a slab of thick-cut smoked bacon topping an already luscious patty.
