Ina Garten Hates Cilantro

You won't find this one ingredient anywhere near her kitchen

It's hard to imagine, but celebrity chefs are just like us. They make mistakes when testing recipes, they have that one dish they love to indulge in and they have foods they absolutely hate. Even after years of cooking for Food Network and 10 cookbooks, Ina Garten admits she will absolutely never cook with cilantro.

"I know people love it, and you can add it to the recipe. I just hate it," she says in an episode of Munchie's podcast. "To me, it's so strong and it actually tastes like soap to me, but it's so strong it overpowers every other flavor."

It's probably why you've never seen it in her recipes that traditionally call for it, such as guacamole and roasted salmon tacos. It definitely has a distinct flavor, and people either love it or they hate it. Whether you agree with Garten or absolutely love the fresh herb, just don't bring it to her house if you're lucky enough to get invited over for dinner (only in our dreams).
