Dominique Crenn Is Helping California Fire Victims

Her restaurant, Petit Crenn, is serving as home base

Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn took to Instagram this week with a call for help in response to the wildfires ravaging Northern California's wine country. The fires, which are now entering their third day, have scorched more than 115,000 acres and destroyed at least 1,500 structures, causing tens of thousands of people to evacuate their homes.

The Chef's Table star invited fans to join both the Petit Crenn and Atelier Crenn teams in the kitchen to make sandwiches for victims displaced by the fires, in addition to seeking ingredient donations. Crenn herself has been personally affected by the blaze, as Bleu Belle Farm, the Sonoma County grower that was going to provide produce exclusively for her restaurants, is now part of the mandatory evacuation zone.

Crenn has never been one to shy away from humanitarian causes, having traveled to Haiti to help cacao farmers rebuild after Hurricane Matthew, as well as planning a fundraiser to assist Puerto Ricans after Hurricane Maria.
