Alamo Drafthouse
Downtown Brooklyn's dine-in movie theater will be showing special screenings of holiday-appropriate films (including Steven Spielberg's scream-worthy masterpiece, Poltergeist). Be sure to visit House of Wax, the theater's gory museum/bar hybrid dedicated to replicas of dismembered body parts.
Threes Brewing
After an all-ages-welcome pumpkin carving, the Gowanus-based brewery will be hosting a late-night, costumed dance party. Don't worry if you've overbooked your weekend: Round two goes down on the actual day of Halloween.

Art After Dark: Halloween
Yes, we're telling you that spending Halloween inside a museum is a cool idea. The Guggenheim's first Art After Dark event will include a live DJ performance while you peruse the latest exhibitions in a private, after-hours viewing. For those who've spent all their cash on a Pennywise costume, note that Loreley Beer Garden's outdoor patio party will be free of cover charges. Aside from special pumpkin beer (appropriately served from a pumpkin keg), the beer garden's midnight costume contest includes prizes such as $250 to spend at the bar.
The Haunted Crown Halloween Party
