The origins of this cocktail are blurry, but it has one major claim to fame: It is the cocktail that begat the Martini.

Cook Time: 5 minutes
- 1¾ ounces Ransom Old Tom Gin
- 1 ounce Cinzano Rosso
- ¼ ounce Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
- 2 dashes Bitter Truth Jerry Thomas' Own Decanter Bitters
- Lemon wheel
In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, add the ice, gin, Cinzano Rosso, maraschino liqueur and bitters. Stir, then strain into a chilled coupe. Float the lemon wheel on top.
