Ingredients
  • 1 lime wedge plus 1 ounce fresh lime juice, divided
  • 2 tablespoons plus ⅛ teaspoon li hing mui powder, divided 
  • 2 tablespoons demerara sugar
  • Ice
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce Cointreau or triple sec
Directions
  1. Gently squeeze the lime wedge and rub it over the entire rim of a coupe glass.
  2. To a small plate, add 2 tablespoons of li hing mui and the 2 tablespoons of demerara. Trail your finger through the mixture to combine, then shake the plate to evenly disperse the blend. Turn the coupe upside down and twist the rim into the li hing mui sugar.
  3. To a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the lime juice, tequila, Cointreau and remaining ⅛ teaspoon li hing mui powder. Cover, shake vigorously, then strain into the coupe and serve.
