How To Make The Americano Cocktail | Tasting Table Recipe

In praise of the classic cocktail

The Negroni is pretty much a perfect drink–but there are times when you could do with one less alcoholic ingredient. Skip the gin, top with fizzy water and you've got the loveliness known as The Americano.

"As a card-carrying American, it's my go-to cocktail when I'm traveling abroad," says TT Drinks Editor Jim Meehan. "It's the perfect drink to keep your wits about you over a long night out or ameliorate a hangover at brunch the next morning."

In other words, it's what to drink between Negronis.
