How To Make A Giant Chocolate Crinkle Cookie In A Skillet

Chocolate crinkle cookie, meet the trusty cast-iron pan

How could we improve on the classic chocolate crinkle? By making a giant one, obviously.

In lieu of rolling out many balls for many cookies, we took chilled cookie dough and rolled it into one big ball. Sprinkled with powdered sugar and placed in the middle of a greased ovenproof skillet, it went into the oven for an hour for large-format feasting.

You could cut it into slices, "Pizookie" style. Or go the classy route, like we did, and dump some ice cream in the middle of it while it's still warm, hand out some spoons and go to town.
