How To Make Churros 3 Ways Video

Because there's nothing better than fried dough covered in sugar

Somewhere amid all the unicorn, mermaid, centaur and other mythically named viral foods, the humble churro has quietly been having its own moment. We've seen them popping up on menus across the country, and they've even started to invade the freezer aisle. And, needless to say, the craveable snack, with its sugary crust and custardy inside, has always been at the top of our treat list.

For this bite-size churro recipe, we not only toss a handful of tasty fried dough nuggets in the typical cinnamon-sugar mix, but also coat a batch in vibrant matcha and another in chile-spiked cocoa to give your dessert game an extra kick. Here's how to make them.

First, make and fry the dough (see the recipe). Then, toss the warm churros in any (or all) of sugars below.

Classic: Mix 1 cup of sugar with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.

Matcha: Mix 1 cup of sugar with 2 teaspoons of matcha powder.

Spicy chocolate: Mix 1 cup of sugar with 1 teaspoon of chile powder and 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
