How To Get Rid Of Fruit Flies

Don't worry, it happens to the best of us

Nobody likes fruit flies. Their invasions make you wonder if you made some grave hygienic mistake that attracted the little pests and leave you wanting anything but that just-ripe banana. But in reality, they're difficult to avoid if you own fruit, period.

There is an abundance of hacks that supposedly fend them off involving everything from red wine to dish soap, but we've found a method that works every time.

Pour enough apple cider vinegar to cover the base of a bowl. Secure plastic wrap tightly with a rubber band around the lip of the bowl, then poke tiny holes in the plastic wrap with a knife or wooden skewer. Now you can eat your fruit in peace—just make sure you refresh the vinegar every now and then.
