Not feeling inspired by your usual dishes? Here's what's for dinner.

If you're blessed with a green-thumbed neighbor, chances are your front porch is overflowing with summer squash gifts, stork style. Keep an eye out for the stout, scalloped pattypan, which is as adorable as it sounds, or the spherical eight ball squash. Then get cooking, because your pile of zucchini will turn into a pumpkin before you know it—literally.

① Appetizer: Shaved Summer Squash with Pine Nuts and Pecorino
You'll definitely want a mandoline to make quick work of this summery salad. Use whatever squash you have on hand, sprinkle on the Pecorino and Thai chiles, and don't forget those beautiful squash blossoms.

② Main Course: Zucchini Pappardelle
"Zucchini noodles" can be a misleading phrase. Sometimes it's referring to just pasta, other times squash masquerading as noodles. Here, it's both: zucchini ribbons and noodles, plus juicy tomatoes and a scattering of fresh basil.

③ Side Dish: Zucchini Corn Bread with Olive Oil-Whipped Ricotta
Leave it as a savory side or play up the sweetness of the corn by drizzling honey over the whole thing. Of course, you can take it to full dessert status by crowning a slice of corn bread with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
