When you're shopping for the home cook who has everything, a regular gift certificate just won't do. Instead, give them the opportunity to cook with their favorite chefs–in their restaurant kitchens.

Chef Andy Cook leads two classes per month ($150) at Gordon Ramsay at the London West Hollywood, usually themed around the season. Ten students meet for Champagne and hors d'oeuvres; then you're led to the kitchen (pictured), where Cook prepares a three-course lunch. You eat as he cooks, with wine pairings poured by the sommelier. Ramsay might not always be there, but you do get his Healthy Appetite cookbook to take home.

Sit around the kitchen counter at Barbrix for chef Don Dickman's no-nonsense (but fun) monthly classes ($75). The next one (December 12) is a "Holiday Cocktail Party," where you'll learn how to make his signature dishes like spiced lamb meatballs, wild mushroom polenta cakes, and saffron arancini stuffed with smoked mozzarella. There's room for 12 students, and go hungry–there are often more than 10 dishes to taste.

Nancy Silverton and Matt Molina had a trial run in November for their new classes at Mozza2Go's Scuola di Pizza, and the 12 spots sold out immediately. The Umbrian Thanksgiving menu included dishes like porchetta, panzanella with bitter greens, and pumpkin crostada, all prepared–with instruction–by the chefs themselves. Be the first to line up for the regular monthly classes that will begin after the New Year.
