Slow Cooker Carnitas Recipe

Ingredients
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 to 4 pounds pork shoulder
1 medium yellow onion, cut into wedges
1 orange, juice and rind
2 cups chicken stock
Directions
Combine the oregano, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, garlic, and olive oil.
Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker and rub it all over with the spice mixture.
Add the onion, orange juice, orange peel, and chicken stock to the slow cooker.
Cook the pork on high for 4 hours until it falls apart when shredded with a fork.
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and reserve some of the juices.
Shred the pork and mix the meat with a small amount of the pork juices.
Serve the carnitas warm.
