Flaky Pie Crust Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons ice cold water
  • 3 tablespoons ice cold vodka
Directions
  1. Add the flour, sugar and salt to the bowl of an electric stand mixer and whisk to combine.
  2. Add the cubed butter and rub this into the flour with your hands until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Start the mixer on a low speed using a dough hook attachment. Slowly add the water and vodka with the mixer running.
  4. Mix until everything starts to come together into a smooth dough.
  5. Scrape the dough up out of the bowl with your hands and shape into a ball.
  6. Wrap in cling film and chill in the fridge for 1 hour before rolling out.
  7. Roll out the dough and line your pie dish. Bake as per the instructions on your specific pie recipe.
