Classic Sazerac Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients
¼ ounce (1 ½ teaspoons) absinthe
1 sugar cube or 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 ounces rye
4 dashes Peychaud's bitters
Directions
Muddle the sugar with the bitters in a mixing glass.
Put a few ice cubes in the mixing glass, then stir in the rye.
Pour the absinthe into a cocktail glass, then rinse it around the inside and pour it out.
Strain the rye mixture into the cocktail glass.
Use a twist of lemon peel as a garnish, if desired.
