Peel the sweet potatoes with a potato peeler and slice them into spears with sharp knife.
Coat the sweet potatoes with the oil, chili powder, paprika, salt, garlic powder, and arrowroot powder. Mix together with your hands so that every sweet potato spear is coated.
Line the air fryer pan or basket with a parchment liner to prevent the sweet potato fries from sticking.
Place the sweet potato spears into the basket. Add them in batches so that you do not crowd the basket.
Cook on 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes, turning halfway at 6 minutes.
