Seared Ahi Tuna Flatbread Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon tamari sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 (6-ounce) ahi tuna steaks
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil, for brushing the tuna steaks
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • ¼ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 (6-inch) flatbreads
  • 1 cup microgreens
  • 4 radishes, thinly sliced
  • 2 scallions or chives, thinly sliced
Directions
  1. Make the marinade: Combine mirin, sriracha, rice vinegar, tamari, and sugar in a flat-bottomed container.
  2. Add tuna steaks to marinade. Transfer to the refrigerator and marinate the tuna steaks for 20 minutes, turning them over halfway through.
  3. Make the sweet-spicy mayo: Whisk mayo, honey, sriracha and sesame oil in a bowl.
  4. Stir in toasted sesame seeds. Set aside.
  5. Lightly brush tuna with toasted sesame oil before searing.
  6. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat.
  7. Sear tuna for 1 ½ minutes per side for medium-rare.
  8. Rest 5 minutes, then thinly slice the tuna.
  9. Briefly warm the flatbreads.
  10. Spread sweet-spicy mayo evenly over flatbreads.
  11. Layer microgreens, radishes, sliced scallions, and sliced tuna onto the flatbreads.
  12. Fold flatbreads and serve immediately.
