Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups Dr Pepper
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 ½ pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs and drumsticks
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue seasoning
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil and add a wire rack on top. Set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, add the Dr Pepper, ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
  4. Place the saucepan on the stove over medium-high heat and stir to combine the ingredients. Once simmering, reduce to medium.
  5. Cook for 25 to 30 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has reduced and thickened.

  7. Place the chicken onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Cook the thighs and drumsticks in the oven for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and generously brush the entire chicken with the cooked Dr Pepper sauce.
  10. Return the rack of chicken to the oven for 5 minutes.
  11. Take the chicken out of the oven and brush it once more in the Dr Pepper sauce.
  12. Bake for another 5 to 6 minutes until cooked through and sticky.
  13. Serve while hot.
