Honey Butter Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

Ingredients
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon red chile flakes
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Mix the salt and pepper into the flour on a large plate.
  3. Dredge the drumsticks in the flour mixture. Shake off excess flour.
  4. Heat the avocado oil in an oven-proof frying pan.
  5. Sear the chicken until browned, approximately 2 minutes per side.
  6. In a separate pan, melt the butter and add the garlic.
  7. Add honey, lemon juice and zest, and chile flakes to the butter. Stir and heat until the honey is incorporated.
  8. Pour the honey-butter mixture over the drumsticks. Flip the chicken to ensure that the drumsticks are coated in the sauce.
  9. Place the chicken in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 F.
  10. Remove chicken from the oven, place the drumsticks on a platter, and drizzle the remaining sauce on top. Serve immediately.
