Sweet and Salty Thanksgiving Pastry Puffs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 4 ounces halloumi cheese, cut into ½ -inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons teaspoons hot honey
  • 6 dates, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ¼ cup pomegranate arils, for topping
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.
  2. Add bacon to a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Brown bacon pieces until crispy.
  4. Spray a mini muffin tin with cooking spray.
  5. Unfold the puff pastry sheet and roll into a 10-inch square. Cut into 24 2-inch squares.
  6. Press the squares into the muffin tin with the corners pointing up.
  7. Add a piece of halloumi to each cup.
  8. Add the bacon to the halloumi.
  9. Add dates to each cup.
  10. Add a light drizzle of hot honey to each cup.
  11. Combine the egg with water and brush onto the tops of the puff pastries.
  12. Bake until golden brown and melty inside, 15 minutes.
  13. Top with pomegranate arils.
