A Simple Addition To Make Frozen Pizza The Perfect Brunch Food

It goes unsaid that brunch is more luxurious than breakfast. The mimosas make it socially acceptable to drink champagne with your eggs, you get to indulge in dishes like Quiche Lorraine and breakfast focaccia, and you can do it all while in good company.

Whether you host brunch at your own home or enjoy it at a restaurant, the standards are pretty much the same. Fresh out of the oven baked goods or egg dishes prepared from scratch, for example, are much more likely to be served than, say, a frozen pizza. While cold leftover pizza can hit the spot some mornings, let's be honest, pre-made pizza is usually not something people look forward to eating at brunch. However, if you want to get creative with your food, need something else for your spread, or simply want to spruce up the frozen pizza that's been sitting in the back of the freezer, it's actually possible to transform it into a brunch-quality dish.

According to Taste of Home, it takes just one simple ingredient.

Eggs can turn frozen pizza into brunch

As long as you have eggs and frozen pizza, you have everything you need to make a delicious brunch dish. The idea of adding eggs to pizza to make it more breakfasty may seem lazy, but the flavors actually work. Just take it from the Italians. Since 1862, Taste Atlas shares, Italians have been making Bismark pizza, a pizza named after Prussian Prime Minister Otto Von Bismarck that features tomato sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, and — you guessed it — eggs.

Bismarck pizza obviously tastes best from scratch, but the flavors can be replicated on frozen pizza as well. Taste of Home explains that you can accomplish this first by baking your frozen pizza halfway, then cracking however many eggs you want on top before allowing the cooking to complete. Per Kitchn, you'll get the best results if you use the back of a spoon to press the dough and create a crater for the egg to sit in and add a pinch of everything bagel seasoning on top. Just make sure to keep your eye on your pizza for the remaining bake time so the egg yolks are cooked to your desired doneness.

When you take it out of the oven, you'll have the perfect easy brunch.
