Betty Crocker's New Holiday Cookie Kit Is Designed For Reese's Fans

Every year during the holidays, store aisles are filled with baking supplies, from green and red sprinkles to peppermint chocolate chips and pre-made pie crusts to cookie-making kits. The holiday season is when even the person who hasn't opened their oven all year feels the urge to make some baked treats to share with family and friends. According to a survey by Dawn Food Products, a majority of Americans (73%) get excited to bake during the holidays, with 44% of women and 25% of men choosing to bake their own treats, rather than buy them at a store. When deciding what kind of cookies to make, the Food Network recommends asking yourself a few questions, such as: Will they be mailed? Are they for a child's classroom? And does anyone have a nut allergy? This will determine how sturdy they need to be for mailing and what ingredients they should include.

However, a lot of people find baking stressful and time-consuming. More than half (55%) of the respondents to the Dawn Foods survey who have kids at home under the age of 18 are likely to say they don't have the time to bake. Fortunately, Betty Crocker has a product for people who want the taste of a homemade cookie but are short on time.

Festive and tasty

Betty Crocker has unveiled a new product for the holiday baking season: a Reese's Trees Cookie Kit. According to a press release sent to Tasting Table, the kit includes a peanut butter cookie mix, green frosting, and Reese's Pieces candies. The kit will make 15 tree-shaped cookies and is available for a limited time at retailers. And the holiday tree cookies aren't the only product Betty Crocker makes with Reese's; The company also sells the Betty Crocker Reese's Pieces Surprise Cupcake Kit

According to a survey by OnePoll on behalf of Bob's Red Mill, peanut butter was in the top five for people's favorite cookies in 2020 at 26%. At number one is chocolate chip (40%) and number three is sugar (25%). Those are followed by gingerbread at 21% and snickerdoodles at 20%. So what's better than a peanut butter cookie but one with peanut butter and chocolate candies on top?

The suggested retail price for the Betty Crocker Reese's Trees Cookie Kit is $4.98.
