Join Tasting Table® and Support the Fight Against World Poverty During Whole Planet Foundation®'s Five-Week Fund-Raising Campaign
Tasting Table to Donate $1 to Whole Foods Market®'s Nonprofit for Every New Subscriber During Annual Prosperity Campaign to Help Alleviate Poverty Across the Globe
New York, NY (February 22, 2012)--For the third consecutive year, Tasting Table is joining forces with Whole Foods Market and its nonprofit, Whole Planet Foundation, to raise funds for microcredit loans in developing countries around the world.
From February 21 through March 31, 2012, Tasting Table will donate $1 to Whole Planet Foundation during its 2012 Prosperity Campaign for every new subscriber who signs up to receive its free daily epicurean emails at TastingTable.com/wholefoods.
"Kudos to Tasting Table for making it easy for shoppers to make a real, lasting impact on someone's life," said Philip Sansone, president and executive director for Whole Planet Foundation. "We're so grateful for their ongoing support."
In 2010, the partnership with Tasting Table was the first of its kind for the foundation during its annual Prosperity Campaign. Through the five-week awareness and fundraiser, Whole Planet Foundation invites Whole Foods Market shoppers to visit their local store to partake in one of hundreds of benefit events or donate directly to the foundation at store checkouts and online at wholeplanetfoundation.org. One hundred percent of customer donations go directly to funding microlending projects, supporting the foundation's mission to create economic partnerships with the poor in developing-world communities that supply Whole Foods Market stores with products.
"We are proud to partner with Whole Planet Foundation for a third consecutive year as it is a cause Tasting Table supports wholeheartedly," said Geoff Bartakovics, CEO of Tasting Table.
