Jonathan Kauffman Named San Francisco Editor of TastingTable.com

New York, NY (May 14, 2012)--Tasting Table, the free daily epicurean email publication, appointed Jonathan Kauffman as its new San Francisco editor. He replaces Jessica Battilana, who was promoted to senior editor at the publication. In his new role, Kauffman oversees all editorial content for Tasting Table's San Francisco city edition, reporting to editor in chief Scott Hocker.

Before joining Tasting Table, Kauffman reviewed restaurants for more than a decade at the East Bay Express, Seattle Weekly and, most recently, SF Weekly. He has won a number of national awards for his criticism and reporting, including a James Beard Award, and his writing has been anthologized in several editions of Best Food Writing.

“I have been a fan of Jonathan’s work for years. His way with words and his unerring smarts, knowledge and thoughtfulness about food are incomparable," says Hocker. "His wealth of experience and interest in burgeoning culinary trends make him a perfect fit for our growing West Coast audience.”

"I've been impressed with Tasting Table's ability to ferret out great food, as well as the publication's integrity, since it launched,” Kauffman responds. “At Tasting Table, I get to do all the things I loved about being a restaurant critic, but here I get to focus exclusively on everything worth eating and drinking."

Tasting Table has six city editions--New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Miami--and three national editions: National, Top Shelf and Chefs' Recipes.
