Though it only features four ingredients, the Board of Directors has the complexity of a drink with four times as many. (Blame the Green Chartreuse, a liqueur made with over 100 herbal extracts.) The cocktail's real appeal, though, is how effortlessly drinkable and refreshing it is, as fitting for a festive holiday dinner as a summertime night out.
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon warm water
1½ ounces dry vermouth, preferably Noilly Prat
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
½ ounce Green Chartreuse
Ice
1. In a small bowl, combine the honey and water. Whisk until combined.
2. In a cocktail shaker, combine the vermouth, lemon juice, Chartreuse and ¼ ounce honey syrup. Add ice to fill. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe. Serve.
