Digital Ad Sales Assistant

Location: Tasting Table Headquarters in Soho, Manhattan, New York

Tasting Table has an immediate opening for a Digital Sales Assistant to participate in our 12-month training program in New York City.

This program combines on-the-job training with full-time work in our SoHo office assisting our Digital Ad Sales team with running day-to-day operations for our fast-growing food and drink media company. This is a perfect introduction to digital ad sales for an ambitious recent grad or career-changer who wants to launch a rocket ship sales career and is willing to work and learn hard to gain the fundamental skills, tools and knowledge to succeed.

As a Digital Sales Assistant, you will work closely with our business development managers on all aspects of the sales lifecycle, from lead generation to media plan and proposal development to tracking sold business with Tasting Table and beyond. You'll gain the skills necessary to understand a client's needs and requirements, craft a cunning proposal that fulfills those needs and convey Tasting Table's unique ability to deliver on that proposal.

Along the way you'll also become versed in the vocabulary and technical skills necessary to work in digital ad sales, and you'll begin to develop a network of colleagues and contacts.

Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required
- High energy level, high-intensity and general desire to "crush it"
- Work-hard / Play-hard mentality when "crushing it"
- Thoroughness / drive
- Ability to learn quickly on-the-job without dropping the ball
- Sponge-like ability to absorb new material
- Excellent quantitative skills; Excel skills desired but not required

Communications Intern

Location: Tasting Table Headquarters in Soho, Manhattan, New York
Desired Start Date: Immediately

TastingTable.com is looking for an energetic intern to work in our Communications & Events department at our New York City headquarters. This paid internship will offer exposure to the fast-paced world of a digital start-up. Each intern will have a hand in the projects and tasks of the department including event production, public relations and social media.

Potential interns should be willing to commit 20 hours per week in our Soho office. This position requires obsessive attention to detail, excellent research and writing skills and a positive, go-getter attitude. Familiarity with Google products and Excel is a plus. Motivation, resourcefulness and enthusiasm are musts: Much of the projects are time-sensitive, so organization and time-management skills are essential to maintain efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning and execution of events in our Test Kitchen & Dining Room including vendor outreach, research, gift bag assembly and on-site event management.
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of our Test Kitchen including inventory and interfacing with our full time culinary staff.
  • Create event collateral in collaboration with TT graphic designers such as invitations, menus and signage.
  • Administrative tasks such as scheduling, mailings and expense reporting
  • Assist in execution of PR strategy including media list development and database management, drafting press materials and media monitoring
  • Assist in the execution of social media strategy across multiple platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram)

Events Manager

Events Manager
Location: Tasting Table Headquarters in Soho, Manhattan, New York
Desired Start Date: Immediately

TastingTable.com has an immediate opening for an Events Manager. This position requires a HIGH DEGREE of organizational and communications skills, both written and oral in addition to a positive, pro-active attitude. The events manager reports to the Senior Events Manager and will serve a vital role in providing strategic support and coordination for all event efforts (advertorial/editorial/revenue generating), with a particular focus on overseeing marketing and sponsorships for three West-Coast event activations scheduled in September, October and November 2014.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with sponsors to ensure all sponsorship benefits are being delivered
  • Create and manage event budgets and revenues
  • Develop a robust marketing and PR strategy for each event activation
  • Oversee all day-to-day aspects of multiple events, including pre-event logistics, contract negotiation, event promotion & marketing, vendor relations, sponsor coordination, on-site execution and post project recaps and surveys
  • Create reports, presentations, recaps and proposals
  • Fulfill necessary administrative responsibilities, include meeting scheduling, travel planning, expense reporting and vendor payments
  • Participate in ongoing discussions with sales team to execute sponsor programs

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning/management
  • EXCELLENT interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • STRONG attention to detail
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills
  • A proven ability to implement an event from concept to completion, paying close attention to every detail while meeting deadlines and budgets
