Managing Editor

Location: Tasting Table Headquarters in Soho, Manhattan, New York

Tasting Table has an immediate opening for a Managing Editor within its editorial team. Put simply, the managing editor's role is to ensure TT's overall editorial excellence. More specifically, the managing editor manages the day-to-day operations of the editorial team, ensuring all moving parts are in place, deadlines are adhered to and content publishes as planned.

This person is the quality control for the homepage and all other elements of TastingTable.com, making sure everything comes together in a cohesive and seamless manner, including working closely with the tech team to smooth out kinks and optimize new features. Relatedly, the managing editor acts as the editorial liaison to all other departments in order to execute sales, marketing and other company-wide initiatives.

In addition to being extremely detail-oriented, the managing editor must have a mind for the larger picture, maintaining a dynamic editorial calendar and executing larger editorial features, from the planning and conceptualization phases to completion. The managing editor should be able to interpret content metrics in order to develop strategies based on both successes and failures.

Finally, the managing editor should possess a sunny disposition, be solution-oriented, be ready to jump in on any task, small or large, and act as a resource for the entire team.


  • 3 to 5 years managing editor experience, preferably in the food/drink/lifestyle space (although not required)
  • Whip-smart problem-solver with a basic understanding of HTML and coding
  • Digitally-minded CMS whiz with working knowledge of back-end technology
  • Sharp proofreading eye
  • Familiar with the Tasting Table editorial voice and style
  • Strong attention to detail, verging on obsession to re-check your work twice before becoming comfortable that the work is right.

Video Intern

Location: Tasting Table Headquarters in Soho, Manhattan, New York
Desired Start Date: Immediately

Tasting Table is looking for an intern to work in the video department at our New York City headquarters. This paid internship offers the opportunity to participate in editorial meetings, assist on video shoots, both in-house and on location, and to create original content for the website. The intern will also be asked to help with asset management, video processing and music selection for our in-house content.

Potential interns should be willing to commit at least 20 hours per week for a minimum of three months. Interested candidates do not need to be students in order to apply, but Tasting Table will work with college students to receive school credit.


  • Assist on video shoots, both in-house and on location
  • Assist in pre- and post-production
  • Support the workflow of the video department, including retrieving ingredients for shoots, transporting gear to and from the sets and other tasks as necessary
  • Participate in weekly editorial and video meetings
  • Help to create original content for TastingTable.com



  • A concrete handle on digital videography and a working knowledge of lighting technique
  • Advanced proficiency in post-production software (Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Avid, etc.)
  • Motivation, resourcefulness and enthusiasm, and a passion for digital video
  • Knowledge of the digital food and drink space and a strong interest in digital media
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Brand Experiences Intern

Location: Tasting Table Headquarters in Soho, Manhattan, New York

TastingTable.com is looking for an energetic intern to work in our Brand Experiences department at our New York City headquarters. This paid internship will offer exposure to the fast-paced world of a digital start-up. Each intern will have a hand in the projects and tasks of the department including event production, public relations and social media.

Potential interns should be willing to commit to at least 20 hours per week in our Soho office. This position requires obsessive attention to detail, excellent research and writing skills and a positive, go-getter attitude. Familiarity with Google products and Excel is a plus. Motivation, resourcefulness and enthusiasm are musts: Much of the projects are time-sensitive, so organization and time-management skills are essential to maintain efficiency.


  • Participate in planning and execution of events in our Test Kitchen & Dining Room including vendor outreach, research, gift bag assembly and on-site event management
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of our Test Kitchen including inventory and interfacing with our full time culinary staff
  • Assist in the execution of our large scale events including inventory management and communication with vendors
  • Create event collateral in collaboration with TT graphic designers such as invitations, menus and signage
  • Administrative tasks such as scheduling, mailings and expense reporting
  • Assist in execution of PR strategy including media list development and database management, drafting press materials and media monitoring
