Goody 'n' Plenty
Pick-me-ups from a new SoMa takeout window
We'd rather pass out cold than chug an energy drink when the afternoon doldrums hit.
Thankfully, the new Goody Goodie Cream & Sugar takeout window in SoMa, with its intoxicating combination of savories, sweets and caffeine (by proxy), has all we need to make it to the closing bell.
Handily located next to Vega, Goody Goodie dishes out two small market-fresh sandwiches daily: Think plump cherries, gorgonzola and tarragon ($5.50), or ribbons of Italian zucchini with Crescenza and a sprinkling of microgreens ($5.50)--both on squat Acme rolls.
Cookies, chockablock with fillings like cocoa nibs and Kettle corn, come in two sizes: Try a giant Big One or a mini Bite Me, depending on your appetite. Dainty portions of delightfully boozy tiramisu ($2.50) and dense, vanilla-flecked panna cotta ($2.50) satisfy more refined cravings.
And for later? A few cocoa nib wafers studded with oil-cured olives ($4.50 each). The paper-thin sheets are as intriguing on their own as they are slathered with cheese--the perfect addition to your next party's snack plate.
