Find new perks from familiar faces at 331 Cortland

Staying put can be extremely advantageous.

For proof, ask some of San Francisco's favorite mobile food purveyors, who have secured permanent homes at the new culinary marketplace 331 Cortland in Bernal Heights. None are abandoning their movable feasts, but with an actual address, the businesses can offer bigger menus and more services.

Here, a guide to the familiar vendors' fresh offerings:

ICHI Lucky Cat Deli For years, Mission dive-bar lurkers perked up when ICHI served its sushi and pork sliders during happy hour. Now, along with sushi, sandwiches and salads, ICHI Lucky Cat Deli sells superb sushi-grade fish for the home cook.

El Porteño The farmers' market staple still bakes empanadas like the beloved beef carne ($4). In addition, there are new savory fillings like champiñones (mushrooms) ($3.75), plus jarred chimichurri ($7), an Argentinean herb sauce perfect for grilled meat.

Wholesome Bakery Food-cart fans have been loyally following the Twitter feed of this all-vegan bakery. New pastries include breakfast breads ($3) and mint-chip cookie sandwiches ($3.25), and Wholesome has partnered with Dezy's Drinks to serve unique beverages like the nettles refresher ($3), an herbal twist on iced tea.

311 Cortland, 331 Cortland (at Bennington St.); vendors keep different hours, but the marketplace is open every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the bakery open at 8 a.m. (except Mondays)
