The Beerman Cometh
Craft beer to your doorstep
As with any perishable product, beer is better fresh.
But delivering fresh beer to the masses can be tricky, particularly for small craft breweries, which typically don't have large-scale distribution. The result of this roadblock: We've been drinking stale beer--or even worse, we've been missing out on choice finds altogether.
Beerjobber is set to change that. The website takes its name from the original "beer jobbers," who, at the turn of the 20th century, would pick up batches from local breweries and deliver them to drinkers by hand. Now Beerjobber takes that idea and applies it to the digital age, acting as conduit between the brewery and you. Once you sign up (membership is free), you can browse the site for your favorite obscure brews. And once you've made your purchase, the company handles the logistics of picking up craft beer when it's freshest and sending it directly to your door.
Whether you fancy Mexican-style beers from Del Norte Brewery in Denver ($39 for two dozen 12-ounce bottles) or Southern Pecan Ale from Mississippi's Lazy Magnolia Brewing ($53 for two dozen 12-ounce bottles), the distinctive brews are now available with the click of a mouse.
So go freshen up.
