That's My Jam!
Copperpot's sweet and savory jams aren't merely for toast
Jams as delicious as the ones from Copperpot's deserve more than a weekend toast-slicking.
With that in mind, we have culled together a sweet-and-savory, four-day itinerary that takes you on a jam binge across Miami-Dade.
Saturday: Stock up on Copperpot’s jalapeño jam ($7) at the Coral Gables Museum Farmers' Market (8 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 26 only). The jam's sweet and spicy bite is superb with beef empanadas ($6 for one; $10 for two) from The Empanada Lady stand.
Sunday: Slept in on Saturday? Then today's your last weekend chance to buy jam. Head to the Pinecrest Gardens Farmers' Market (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting on May 27) to buy strawberry-basil jam ($7) to spread on a feathery croissant ($2.50) from the La Provence Bakery stall.
Monday: Cook chile-pork wontons (recipe here) at home tonight. Dip them in Copperpot's pineapple five-spice jam ($7) to intensify the umami factor.
Tuesday: "Two Buck Tuesday" specials at Pincho Factory might include goat-cheese sliders with Copperpot's red onion marmalade, or Elena Ruth sliders with Copperpot’s strawberry jam. Sweet-potato tater tots with Copperpot’s apple butter ($3.24) are always on the menu.
