There are no disputes when it comes to the burger’s reign over summer.
The trifecta of patty, cheese and bun has ruled as a benevolent monarch over the country’s summer taste buds for as long as we can remember.
Of course, there have been missteps, but for the most part, we owe the burger a great deal. So for the month of July, we’ll be honoring its time-tested deliciousness, just in time for the height of grilling season.
To begin, we unearthed the genre’s torchbearers: the top burgers from spots less than a year old. Click here to see our finds, from a reimagined Los Angeles classic to an Austin-based spin served on wheels.
Throughout the month, we’ll be releasing more burger intel, including great secret-menu burgers from around the country, a mayonnaise matrix for dipping mastery and ways to enjoy your favorite patty for breakfast.
At the end of the month, we’ll release the recipe for our Test Kitchen-approved Tasting Table burger, one that’s worth flagging for both the summer at hand and future ones.
