Mayonnaise: It can transform a sandwich or salad.

So we were whipped into a frenzy when we learned that one of our favorite condiment purveyors, Sir Kensington's, recently launched two new artisanal, all-natural mayos ($7 for 10 ounces).

The New York City-based founders of Gourmet Scooping Ketchup use cage-free eggs and minimal ingredients for both their classic and chipotle mayonnaise. Both are Non-GMO Project Verified, and contain 33 percent less saturated fat than traditional store-bought versions, making them some of the best jarred choices we've seen.

The classic, which sings with lemon juice, perks up cold shrimp salad, or can be thinned to create a lighter Caesar dressing. The chipotle, spiked with the smoked peppers along with paprika and cumin, could be a no-fuss dip for crudités; use it to spice up turkey and roasted red peppers on whole wheat, or to add another layer of flavor to a pulled-pork sandwich.
