Sprouted Whole-Grain Flax Bread By Ezekiel 4:9

Ezekiel 4:9's new sprouted whole-grain flax bread

It's difficult to find a whole-grain bread that's the best thing since, well, you know.

With Food for Life's new, Ezekiel 4:9 sprouted whole-grain flax bread ($4 suggested retail price in stores; $35 for a six-pack online), we may have found the promised land. Named for a passage in the Bible that encourages bread baking, the Ezekiel loaf is crafted from grains and legumes for maximum nutrition and flavor.

Made with only certified-organic sprouted wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, spelt and flaxseeds–and, notably, no flour–the bread is dense and chewy, but not cardboard-like. Ezekiel's latest offering also contains no conditioners, additives, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. Each slice is high in fiber and diabetic-friendly, and contains higher levels of vitamins and minerals than regular bread.

Although we love toasting the bread for open-faced sandwiches–or even just a simple slathering of avocado, lime and salt–we could also foresee using the slices to make breadcrumbs to coat seafood, or in some of our favorite baked-good recipes.

We don't feel bad about this sort of loafing around.
