The Best Places To Eat Brunch Outdoors In Chicago | Tasting Table CHI

Our favorite outdoor brunch spots in Chicago

50 and sunny. 60 and rainy. At this point we'll take what we can get. Soon it'll be warm enough to warrant an outdoor meal. Herewith, seven brunches you can enjoy en plein air.

Carriage House
Grab a Carriage House Red Eye (El Dorado 5 year rum, cold-pressed coffee, crème de cacao) and people-watch while you wait for a Low Country feast: fried green tomatoes, chicken and biscuits.

La Sirena Clandestina
At his Fulton Market outpost, John Manion puts out hangover fires courtesy of Latin-local fare. Start with a breakfast empanada, then go big with El Che (roasted pork loin, ham, Swiss, Malagueta mayo, ciabatta).

Honey Butter Fried Chicken
The best patios are picnic table-strewn, lazy and loud. Find it all at the Avondale hotspot–plus brunch delicacies like roasted chicken and grits (fried farm egg, honey buffalo sauce).

Bangers & Lace
Come for the beer cocktails; stay and gaze at Division Street dawdlers over plates of breakfast sliders with Spencer's bangers. Better yet, build a biscuit sandwich with a bevy of meat and cheese options.

Hash
A quiet enclave on otherwise noisy Western Avenue, Hash's patio is ripe for enjoying affordable plates of homey grub. We love the Chickpea, strewn with spicy garbanzos, kale, paneer and a dollop of cool yogurt.

Birchwood Kitchen
Locals can't get enough of this Wicker Park haunt, and for good reason. Weekends bring a stellar Croque Vert (market veg and Gruyère on grilled sourdough) and a perfectly crisped Belgian waffle with maple syrup and butter. Patio seats are hard to come by, but worth it once you get there.

Nana
Venture to Bridgeport for Latin-flecked specialties like the Nanadict (poached eggs, chorizo, pupusas, poblano cream) and baked chilaquiles with corn tortilla casserole. Sweet teeth can partake in banana pancakes with Bananas Foster sauce.
