Korean for "tree branch," Gaji gives a nod to the seasonal and local on its modern, Asian-inflected menu. The result: composed plates such as kimchi-stuffed dates with apple mustard and furikake-molasses corn bread served with togarashi spread and French breakfast radishes. It's only open for dinner now, with lunch on the way.

The fine-dining seafood destination reopens its doors after a 10-day revamp. Michael Cimarusti's Michelin two-star restaurant has gotten an Art Deco makeover with luxurious nautical touches. The menu has also changed to a tasting menu format.

One part ice cream parlor, one part whisky bar, one part seafood restaurant and one part café, this Playa del Rey one-stop-shop offers all-day and all-occasion dining by the beach. Chef couple Brooke Williamson and Nick Roberts have created a menu that has everything from breakfast sandwiches and pastries to oysters on the half shell and cocktails.

Try classic cocktails on draft and new inventions (rhubarb boba, anyone?) from barman Dushan Zaric of NYC's Employees Only. Pair them with throwback bites: a French dip sandwich, open-faced bologna sandwich and funnel cake bites from chef Eric Greenspan.
