Kush Sake Bar

Not simply a traditional izakaya, Echo Park's new Kush gets playful with Japanese pub grub. On the menu, you'll find sweet and buttery Japanese meatballs served with mashed potatoes and poached egg, as well as seafood fries: deep-fried mussels, shrimp and corn topped with Cajun spices and cheese. The dinner-only restaurant also has a concise sake list.

McConnell's Fine Ice Cream

Santa Barbara's artisanal ice cream shop, McConnell's Fine Ice Cream, lands in L.A. just in time for summer. The Grand Central Market kiosk will scoop 16 rotating flavors, such as olive oil and salted almonds, or eureka lemon and marionberries, made from local and organic ingredients.
